Marcos: Phl could be pulled into Taiwan war, vows to hold Bajo de Masinloc

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. said Monday the Philippines would inevitably be pulled into any war over Taiwan, “kicking and screaming,” even if it wants to avoid conflict. He made the statement after two BFAR vessels were reportedly water-cannoned by Chinese ships in Bajo de Masinloc. Marcos rejected Beijing’s complaints about his recent comments, insisting the Philippines is only defending its territory. He said no orders were given to withdraw Philippine vessels from the area. The President vowed the country will stand its ground “until the threats stop.” PHOTOS BY YUMMIE DINGDING
