A quick call to 911 on Saturday led to the swift arrest of a trespasser carrying an unlicensed firearm in Barangay Teacher Village East, Quezon City.
P/Lt. Col. Zachary Capellan, commander of Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Station 9 (Anonas), identified the suspect as alias “Vincent,” a resident of Barangay Culiat.
Capellan said the 41-year-old victim caught the suspect unlawfully entering his home around 10:26 a.m. The intruder fled toward Madasalin Street, prompting the homeowner to immediately call 911.
The alert was quickly relayed to Station 9’s Tactical Operations Center. Patrollers nearby responded in real time, intercepted the suspect along Madasalin Street, and arrested him.
A search of the suspect’s backpack yielded a loaded .38-caliber revolver with six live rounds — without any legal documents.
Records from the Investigation Solution Automatic Verification system showed the suspect had previous cases for violating the Anti-Gambling Law (October 2022 and November 2023) and multiple theft cases in 2023 and 2024.
QCPD Acting Director P/Col. Randy Glenn Silvio said the suspect will face charges for trespassing and violating the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act (RA 10591) before the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office.
Silvio also urged the public to use 911 or the QC Helpline 122 for emergencies, saying, “Immediate reporting significantly shortens police response time and increases the chances of catching offenders in the act.”
