Bengaluru, India – President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. said the Philippines was able to receive actual direct investment in the amount of US$ 446 million on his five-day state visit.
Speaking to members of the Philippine media in Bengaluru, Marcos said the number does not stop there as other areas have a potential for more investments investments.
The Philippines is looking to a full potential investment of $5.6 to $5.7 billion.
“Pero marami pang papasok yan hindi pa yan… kagaya ng aking nasabi, simula pa lang iyan. And we’re hoping that we have generated interests in several other areas. and yung estimate namin, ang estimate namin dyan with several other areas is a potential investment of about 5.6, 5.7B dollars. So malaking bagay talaga,” he said.
Marcos also noted India’s strong economy which could rise through the ranks coming from being the fourth largest economy to the third largest economy.
“With the prospect of becoming the hird largest economy in the world, talagang napaka aktibo ng kanilang ekonomiya you know they see a strong instinct for progess and development especially in the digital area,” he said.
