The Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA) has reassured the public that the sexual harassment case involving one of its executives is an isolated incident, and vowed to uphold accountability and institutional integrity.

In a statement posted Thursday on Facebook, the PNPA emphasized that it does not tolerate misconduct within its ranks.

“Rest assured, this is an isolated incident, and the institution does not—and will never—condone such acts,” it said.

The case involves a 35-year-old police major and PNPA executive who allegedly harassed a 21-year-old cadet during a drinking session that escalated into a massage incident.

According to the report, the victim immediately turned to the guard on duty and later to a superior, leading to the arrest of the suspect.

The PNPA confirmed that the officer is now facing a criminal complaint, as well as administrative charges to be filed by the academy.

The institution also appealed for privacy on behalf of the victim, who is currently undergoing psychological intervention.

In response to the incident, the PNPA said it would implement stronger measures to ensure accountability and safeguard cadets.

“In light of this incident, the Academy is taking decisive steps to strengthen its internal mechanisms, including the tightening of vetting procedures for all personnel assigned to PNPA,” it said.
