Two powerhouse performers from different ends of the acting spectrum collide in Posthouse, a chilling psychological horror film that marks the directorial debut of Nikolas Red. Fronted by veteran actor Sid Lucero and millennial screen darling Bea Binene, the film dives deep into family trauma, supernatural terror, and the haunting legacy of forgotten cinema.
In Posthouse, Sid Lucero takes on the role of Cyril, a brooding film editor battling his inner demons and a deeply fractured past. Known for his intense and introspective portrayals, Lucero brings a simmering quiet to the role—allowing horror to unfold not through screaming matches but through tension-filled silences and the slow unraveling of guilt and memory. “Kapag horror kasi madalas ang camera angles na ang tumatakot sa audience,” he shared during the film’s media conference. “Madalas quiet lang ako and nagbi-build ako ng character depende sa hinihingi ng scene.”
Starring opposite him is Bea Binene as Rea, Cyril’s estranged daughter, a film student trying to reconnect with both her father and their shared family history. For Binene, Posthouse isn’t her first foray into horror, but it’s certainly one of her most emotionally demanding. “Pinapractice ko talaga sigaw ko,” she laughed. “Dapat di ako malat. Pinapakita ko kay direk kung okay na sa kanya.” Beyond the screams, her portrayal marks a shift toward more mature, grounded roles that demand depth and emotional restraint.
Together, Sid and Bea navigate a story that blurs the line between film and reality—one haunted not just by monsters, but by memories. As their characters attempt to restore an old silent film, Ang Manananggal, they unlock a curse tied to Cyril’s mother’s unsolved murder, and a creature that refuses to stay hidden in the reels.
With Nikolas Red at the helm and acclaimed filmmaker Mikhail Red serving as creative producer, Posthouse promises to be more than just a horror film—it’s a cinematic descent into inherited darkness, grief, and the ghosts we carry through time.
Posthouse opens in cinemas nationwide on August 20.
