The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) arrested two top regional most wanted fugitives in separate police operations in Tondo, Manila and Quezon City on Wednesday night.
At round 8 p.m. along Wagas Street, Barangay 35, Tondo, operatives of the warrant and subpoena section of the Manila Police District apprehended an adult male resident of Tondo, who is ranked top 6 at the regional level, top 2 at the district level, and top 1 at the station level for the crime of rape.
The arrest was based on a court-issued no-bail warrant for one of the most serious offenses under Philippine law—a crime that gravely violates the dignity and safety of its victims.
The accused is now under detention at the Moriones Police Station custodial facility, pending the return of the warrant to the court of origin.
Earlier that same day, at around 2:30 p.m., another high-value arrest was made beside the barangay hall along Katuparan Street, Commonwealth, Quezon City, where operatives of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit of the Quezon City Police District arrested a male resident of Barangay Payatas B, who is ranked top 10 most wanted at the regional level and top 9 at the district level.
The suspect was served a warrant of arrest issued by the court for acts of lasciviousness under Article 336 of the Revised Penal Code, as amended by Republic Act 11648, in relation to Section 5(b) of Republic Act 7610 (Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act), with a recommended bail of P180,000.
