Barangay Ayala Alabang officials convened an emergency security meeting Friday to address recent theft incidents and growing safety concerns, particularly near commercial establishments.
The meeting, originally scheduled for 22 July but postponed due to bad weather, brought together the Philippine National Police (PNP) and security personnel from Molito Lifestyle Center, Alabang Town Center (ATC), and Madrigal Business Park (MBP).
The discussion focused on an attempted theft last 28 June 2025, at 7:57 p.m., along the sidewalk of Madrigal Avenue, outside Molito Lifestyle premises. In this incident, two suspects on a motorcycle attempted to rob an individual. Molito security and police responded swiftly, though the suspects fled.
The incident had previously sparked online safety concerns among residents of the upscale Ayala Alabang Village, with a Facebook post widely circulating that questioned the area’s diminishing secure reputation.
DAILY TRIBUNE has also carried the story and so far, it is still waiting for official statements from local government officials and the management of Molito.
The post described an individual being pistol-whipped and dragged by two helmeted suspects on a motorcycle who attempted to snatch a necklace. The suspects fled when the victim’s companion screamed, alerting mall security.
During the meeting -- led by Barangay Captain Lester Suntay -- a security assessment identified hot spots within Barangay Ayala Alabang, specifically in commercial areas. Improvements to security protocols were discussed, and agreed-upon action steps were identified.
These include improving lighting in identified high-risk areas and increasing the visible presence of police, security agencies, and barangay personnel. Specific time slots were designated for BAA Security, Molito Security, and ATC Security to support a 24-hour PNP presence.
Plans also include improving CCTV cameras and monitoring systems with a dedicated command station for 24-hour surveillance by PNP and security agencies. Furthermore, officials will strictly enforce no-parking and no-waiting rules on main roads and identified high-risk areas. Coordination with Muntinlupa City officials regarding street children and adults selling items and engaging in other activities will also be pursued.
Ayala Alabang Village is known as one of the country’s most exclusive residential communities, home to prominent business leaders, celebrities and political figures. Just outside its gates, Molito remains a vibrant commercial hub for diners and families in southern Metro Manila.
The recent incident has prompted calls for answers and action as residents consider whether this was an isolated event or a sign of broader security challenges.
