In my pursuit of supporting the arts, it often takes me to parties that celebrate how we move forward. But this time, we honor one that has paved the way for Filipino fashion and excellence on a global stage.
The one and only Jose “Pitoy” Moreno Jr.’s life and legacy was celebrated recently in a well-attended shindig chaired by Tina Colayco, Doris Magsaysay Ho and Fe Rodriguez.
The guests were proof of his impact! Muses, clients, friends and admirers came together to pay homage to the “Fashion Czar of Asia.” And on display at the Metropolitan Museum of Manila were a curation of some of his works. Such gorgeous and timeless designs made lovingly to the last stitch. He knew how to make women feel beautiful in his pieces!
But celebration was not the only goal. To continue his legacy of championing the arts and providing opportunities to aspiring creatives, the proceeds from this elegant gathering went to the Met’s cultural and educational programs.
People who lived like Pitoy — full of love and passion — transcend physical presence. His art and legacy have paved the way in the past, and will live on to shape the future. Cheers to a legend!
