Malacañang Palace on Wednesday gave an assurance to the public that the National Food Authority (NFA) have enough rice stocks to last for 12 days.
This as tropical storm "Dante" and tropical depression "Emong" continue to pour in several areas across the country.
In a press briefing, Palace Press Officer Undersecretary Claire Castro said the NFA is ready to release stocks to requesting local government units and relief agencies.
She said that the NFA has released 6,600 sacks of rice to the Department of Social Welfare and Development in Tarlac for their relief operations.
In Puerto Princesa, Palawan, the NFA has also turned over 200 sacks to the local government unit.
Meanwhile, Castro said no damage has been reported to the NFA warehouses, particularly in Occidental Mindoro and Valenzuela City which was badly hit by Crising and the southwest monsoon.
“Nationwide, no stocks were damaged and the NFA is ready anytime to release stocks to requesting LGUs (local government units) and relief agencies,” she said.
