LAS VEGAS — Manny Pacquiao retreated to the comfort of his suite shortly after his post-weigh-in meal on Friday and left a key member of his entourage a bit confused.
“Boss, tell me, what’s it gonna be like tomorrow?” Joe Ramos asked.
Pacquiao, who turned out to be heavier at 146.8 pounds compared to Mario Barrios at 146.2, refused to answer.
Instead, he just smiled back at Ramos, whose jet lag even got worse owing to the puzzling response of the eight-division legend.
“It was a look that told me, ‘Don’t worry. I know what to do,’” Ramos said.
Throughout the years, Pacquiao has refrained from issuing predictions even when he was the favored fighter.
And just like before, he could not be forced to break that vow.
Saturday night, he will just let his fists do all the talking.
