The Blu Girls peppered Hong Kong with a hitting spree in an abbreviated 12-0 clobbering to secure a spot in the bronze medal match of the Women’s Softball Asia Cup on Saturday in Xi’an, China.

In just four innings, the Filipinas submitted their foes in a mighty bounce back from consecutive losses at the hands of China and Chinese Taipei.

The Blu Girls seek payback from the Taiwanese for a podium spot today at 9 a.m. Chinese Taipei defeated the Blu Girls, 3-0, in their first meeting.

Angelu Gabriel and Nicole Hammoude sparked the Philippines’ onslaught after scoring two run-batted-in doubles from Roma Jane Cruz in the first inning.

The lead ballooned to 6-0 after Mylia Perez, Ma. Victoria Magbanua, Jaycel Roldan and Gabriel completed their runs in the second inning.

Sydnet Vitangcol joined the fray with Perez, Magbanua, Roldan, Gabriel and Cruz in the third inning to hammer the final nails in Hong Kong’s coffin.

With no runs in the fourth inning, game officials ended Hong Kong’s agony by handing the win to the Blu Girls, cutting short the seven-inning affair.

The Blu Girls hope to end their campaign on a winning note against their fellow 2026 Asian Games-bound rival.
