Newly appointed Acting Secretary of the Presidential Communications Office (PCO) Dave Gomez has confirmed that he has asked all appointees within the department to submit their courtesy resignations as he assumes the top communications post.

“I confirm that. It's part of the standard transition process to request the courtesy resignations of all political appointees,” he told Palace reporters on Tuesday.

Earlier, the DAILY TRIBUNE received information that Gomez had issued the order.

On Monday, Gomez said he would conduct a “performance audit” of the entire PCO.

“I need to conduct a fair, honest-to-goodness and unbiased performance audit of the office. I want to be fair to everyone,” he said.

The new PCO chief added that he has scheduled a meeting with the entire department to review their performances.

“I want to sit down with them one-on-one… a deep-dive with them and review… conduct an honest-to-goodness audit, performance audit,” he added.
