Airline dress codes apparently cover accessories like eyewear. Delta Air Lines of the United States has issued a policy prohibiting its flight attendants from wearing smart glasses when on duty.
The directive was in response to rising interest in wearable artificial intelligence (AI) devices, such as the Apple Vision Pro and Meta Ray-Ban Smart Glasses, aviationa2z.com reported.
As the AI glasses feature advanced capabilities like video capture, facial recognition, voice control and real-time AI communication, the ban would ensure the safety, privacy and security of the airline staff and its global operations, according to aviationa2z.com.
Delta passengers are not covered by the ban, however.
Still on the subject of wear, a medical specialist recommends air travelers not wear particular clothing for their safety.
Dr. Hugh Pabarue, a vein specialist with Metro Vein Centers, said clothing can affect the blood circulation of flyers, The US Sun reports.
“Wearing leggings and other restrictive garments such as skinny jeans that are too tight reduces the blood’s ability to flow into and out of the legs,” he warned, according to The US Sun.
Aviation specialist Christine Negroni agrees, telling Huffington Post that leggings and jeans that fit tightly against the skin also pose a risk during a plane emergency like a fire.
