For OPM powerhouse Jed Madela, the ABS-CBN Millennium Transmitter Tower in Quezon City is more than a landmark — it’s a familiar backdrop to a decades-long career shaped within the Kapamilya network.
In a post shared before flying to the UK for the TFC Barrio Fiesta in Birmingham, Jed posted a twilight photo of the tower, hinting that it might be his final glimpse of the structure.
“Took this photo last night after ASAP taping because the iconic ABS-CBN tower might not be there when I get back,” he wrote. “It has been my home and my family for more than two decades and I’ve always kept that in my heart. No matter what. Andito lang ang isang JED MADELA para sa pamilya.”
From early performances on ASAP to representing Filipino music abroad, Jed has remained one of the network’s most recognizable and committed talents. His tribute to the tower echoes not just nostalgia but appreciation for a space that supported his growth as an artist.
“My loyalty can never be questioned,” he said. “Isang tawag lang sa akin, pag pwede sa schedule, yes agad.”
While discussions about the tower’s future — possibly including demolition — have sparked public attention, Jed’s message mirrors the sentiment of many artists who see it as more than just a transmission facility. For them, it represents ABS-CBN’s reach, spirit, and legacy.
The ABS-CBN tower has been part of Philippine broadcast history for decades. For performers like Jed, it stands as a symbol of aspiration, a silent witness to the dreams pursued within its walls.
As he brings the Kapamilya message to Filipino communities overseas, Jed leaves with a parting line that resonates with many: “Kapamilya Forever.”
