Sanford “Sanford” Vinuya of Team Liquid PH is ready to contribute to Sibol, the Philippine national esports team, in any capacity for the upcoming IESF Asia Qualifier—date and venue still to be announced.

Selected as a reserve alongside ONIC PH’s Duane “Kelra” Pillas, Sanford joins the core Team Falcons PH roster of Pheww, Flap, Super Marco, Owgwen, and KyleTzy, who secured their national team spots by dominating the Sibol Combine for the IESF World Esports Championship.

While sixth men are often relegated to bench roles, Sanford is focused on the bigger picture.

“I believe the treatment here will be fair,” Sanford told DAILY TRIBUNE. “If I don’t get the chance to play, that’s okay. I can still help the team in other ways, like sharing what I know and offering support. There’s a chance [to play], but the main five already have established chemistry—so we’ll see.”

“In my role, I can help Flap by pointing out errors I notice and sharing my experience. We’ll exchange ideas. If I end up playing, it’s all about supporting each other,” he added.

Sibol coach Robert “Trebor” Sanchez, however, hinted that his reserves may be more than just backups.

“They’re neck-and-neck in terms of gameplay, so there’s a strong chance our sixth men will get play time,” Trebor said.
