A top official of the Bureau of Customs revealed Thursday that they remitted P10.6 billion to the national government coffers.
This was learned from Atty. Kriden F. Balgomera, District Collector of the Port of Limay, who said that they were able to collect P10,616,240,864.88, with a surplus of P316,240,864.88 against the P10.3 billion collection target set by the Bureau of Customs Central Office — marking a surplus of 3.07% for the month of June alone.
Owing to this, Collector Balgomera said they have successfully surpassed their revenue collection target for the second quarter of 2025, after collecting a total of P30,904,687,785.99 for the second quarter of this year.
Balgomera pointed out that this reflects a positive deviation of 4.15%, demonstrating the port's strong performance and commitment to exceeding revenue goals.
With the P30.9 billion collection, the Port of Limay’s collection can help significantly in achieving the Bureau of Customs’ target of P1.06 trillion this year, which is 12.8% higher than the 2024 target of P939.6 billion.
This bigger collection target is part of a broader effort to boost government revenue and support national development initiatives.
The BOC is also focused on improving its collection efficiency and strengthening border control to achieve this ambitious target.
The district collector said that from January this year up to June, the Port of Limay has remitted more than P60 billion to national coffers.
Owing to this milestone achievement, District Collector Balgomera cited the personnel of Port of Limay “for their hard work and continued support in achieving this milestone,” that resulted in the collection of more than P60 billion in customs taxes for the past six months alone.
