BAGAC, Bataan — The Zoobic Safari Corporation has put up temporary animal shelters inside the compound of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) community office here.
These temporary animal shelters will help the agency strengthen its wildlife rescue efforts.
DENR Regional Executive Director Ralph Pablo said the initiative addresses the urgent need for adequate holding areas for rescued wildlife.
He added that having only a handful of holding areas has become a pressing challenge due to the rise in animal turnovers from citizens, organizations and government partners.
“The newly installed enclosures are designed to provide safe and secure environments for rescued animals while ensuring compliance with wildlife handling protocols,” he added.
Pablo expressed his gratitude to Zoobic Safari Corporation for its support in advancing wildlife conservation in Central Luzon. He emphasized the importance of coordinated efforts between the government and private sector in advancing biodiversity protection initiatives.
“Through this collaboration, the DENR community office in Bagac has become more capable as a receiving center and temporary sanctuary for rescued fauna,” he cited.
