“For us it is simple, if there is nothing to hide, what is the reason to disallow the presentation of evidence.”
Batangas 1st District Representative Leandro Legarda Leviste on Wednesday highlighted the importance of a proposed P1,000 monthly allowance for students.
“It’s very simple. We want all students in the Philippines, from Kindergarten to college, to receive a monthly allowance of P1,000 to help with their expenses for transportation, food, technology, and school supplies,” Leviste said in an interview.
He said that if implemented, an estimated 30 million students would benefit from the measure.
Leviste said the government could borrow money to fund education initiatives, as long as the public funds were not wasted.
House Bill No. 27 seeks to provide a P1,000 monthly allowance to every Filipino student, from Kindergarten to college, regardless of socioeconomic status.
