The Philippine Terno Gala 2025 in Cebu was a grand celebration held at the Pacific Grand Ballroom of the Waterfront Hotel and Casino.

Organized by renowned designer, multi-talented Cary Santiago, the event showcased the elegance and cultural significance of the Filipino terno, bringing together top designers and distinguished guests for a night of fashion and heritage.

Before the show commenced, guests were treated to an exquisite dinner that showcased the rich and diverse flavors of Cebuano cuisine. This carefully curated meal not only delighted the palate but also celebrated the vibrant local culture and deep-rooted pride of the region. From across the room, I could spot general manager Ali Banting his face glowing with pride and satisfaction as he admired the exceptional work of his talented culinary team, whose dedication and skill had brought the authentic tastes of Cebu to life.

The gala featured spectacular terno collections from creative and artistic designers like Protacio Jun Escario, Edwin Ao, Jojie Lloren, Joey Samson and for the finale Cary Santiago whose designs stood out for their intricate craftsmanship and innovative use of plumes and natural materials inspired by animals and nature that lent mesmerizing, modern yet classic touch to his couture pieces.

This much-awaited event aims to promote the terno as a symbol of Filipino identity, encouraging more Filipinas, especially in Cebu to embrace the traditional attire beyond political circles. It also marked a vibrant return to large scale events in Cebu reinforcing the ternos place in contemporary Filipino fashion and society.

The Philippine Gala in Cebu was a visual and cultural spectacle that honored Filipino artistry and tradition while showcasing modern interpretations of the national dress.

Aside from the many models who gracefully graced the runway in stunning, exquisite gowns, several lovely Cebuanas also captured attention in the audience. These women wore beautifully crafted ensembles that not only highlighted their unique style but also made everyone present feel a deep sense of pride. Their presence and fashion choices added an extra layer of elegance and cultural richness to the event, showcasing the creativity and craftsmanship of Cebu’s designers.
