
The Japanese Association Manila Inc. (JAMI) hosted its 8th Cultural Festival on Saturday at the Romulo Auditorium, drawing nearly 1,000 attendees from both the Japanese and Filipino communities.
Japanese Ambassador to the Philippines Endo Kazuya, Madame Endo Akiko, and Minister and Consul General Hanada Takahiro were among the officials from the Embassy of Japan who attended the annual event, which aims to foster cultural exchange and strengthen ties between Japan and the Philippines.
The festival featured performances by 13 groups, involving about 430 participants. Audiences were treated to choral numbers, traditional and modern dances, instrumental performances, and other artistic showcases.
In his remarks during the opening ceremony, Hanada thanked JAMI and supporting organizations for their role in promoting cultural understanding. He highlighted the event as a platform for cross-generational and cross-cultural connection.
The lively gathering was marked by enthusiastic performances and warm interactions between guests and participants.
