CANDABA, Pampanga — Governor-elect Lilia “Nanay” Pineda led the distribution of P7.788 million in financial aid to 1,947 marginalized farmers from seven Pampanga towns on 19 June, aimed at easing the impact of falling palay (unmilled rice) prices. Each farmer received P4,000 in cash along with grocery items.
Pineda explained that the distribution was delayed by the election ban. “Now that the election is over, we immediately delivered this aid on behalf of Governor Delta Pineda. We did not forget you,” she said, thanking local officials and the Provincial Agriculture Office for their assistance.
“We cannot progress if we do not work together,” she added. “The province, barangays and officials must unite to serve our farmers and underprivileged kabalen (townmates).”
The event, held at the Candaba Covered Court, was attended by Board Members Fritzie David-Dizon, Ananias “Jun” Canlas, Paul Balingit, incoming Vice Mayor Thelma Macapagal, and Councilor Queenie Alarcon-Culala, along with representatives from provincial offices.
