Another batch of persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) was transferred by the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) Friday night.
The 300 PDLs from the New Bilibid Prison in Muntinlupa City were brought to the Sablayan Prison and Penal Farm in Sablayan, Occidental Mindoro.
BuCor Director General Gregorio Pio P. Catapang Jr. said it brought to 11,227 the total number of PDLs transferred from NBP to other operating prisons and penal farms of the agency.
Around 100 corrections officers, including members from the escort unit, BuCor SWAT and medical personnel, participated in the transfer.
Catapang said their collaboration with various entities like the Philippine National Police Muntinlupa, the PNP Highway Patrol Group, and local maritime and coast guard services ensured a smooth and secure transition.
