CEBU CITY — The Visayas Command (VisCom) of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) has been commended for its exemplary performance after earning an overall rating of 96.16 percent — with an adjectival rating of “Excellent” — in the recently concluded Annual General Inspection (AGI), a major evaluation initiative across the entire military organization.
The AGI, conducted by the Office of the Inspector General of the AFP, is designed to assess the readiness, mission execution, administrative soundness, and overall effectiveness of all AFP units nationwide. It serves as a comprehensive audit that not only gauges a unit’s current standing but also provides actionable feedback to further strengthen systems, address gaps, and enhance the quality of military service.
The inspection team, led by Lieutenant General Augustine Malinit, PAF, the AFP Inspector General, evaluated VisCom across key performance pillars, including Leadership and Management, Mission Accomplishment, Morale and Welfare, and Discipline, Law and Order — categories crucial in sustaining a functional and disciplined military force.
During the awarding ceremony held at Camp Lapulapu, Lt. Gen. Malinit personally handed over the certificate of excellence to Lt. Gen. Fernando M. Reyeg, Commander of Viscom. Also present were Commodore Oscar Canlas Jr., VisCom Deputy Commander, and Colonel Arthur Romanillos Jr., Command Inspector General.
In his message, Lt. Gen. Reyeg emphasized the significance of the AGI in shaping a more agile and capable command.
