
The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) announced on Sunday the arrest of 223 individuals during a weeklong series of anti-criminality and anti-illegal drug operations conducted from 25 to 31 May.
QCPD acting director P/Col. Randy Glenn Silvio said the arrests by various units and stations included 69 drug suspects, 76 wanted persons, 74 individuals involved in illegal gambling, and four people caught for possession of illegal firearms.
In the campaign against illegal drugs, 47 operations led to the arrest of 69 suspects and the confiscation of suspected shabu valued at P15,261,404.
Police captured 76 wanted individuals, including 32 Most Wanted Persons and 44 Other Wanted Persons. Among the notable arrests, alias “Danny” was apprehended by Anonas Police Station 9 operatives for attempted homicide after 23 years in hiding.
Authorities said that three days after his arrest, the same team served a separate warrant for slight physical injuries issued in 2001.
Meantime, alias “Manuel,” listed as the No. 1 Most Wanted Person of Fairview Police Station 5, was arrested on a warrant for illegal gambling after eight years in hiding. Also arrested was alias “Julie Ann,” listed as the No. 10 Most Wanted Person of Novaliches Police Station 4, for estafa and violation of the anti-bouncing check law after six years in hiding.
Additionally, alias “Christian Jay,” listed as the No. 4 Most Wanted Person of Payatas Bagong Silangan Police Station 13, was apprehended for violations of the firearms and ammunition regulation act and the omnibus election code after evading arrest for two years. Authorities have notified the respective courts of origin about these arrests.
