The Senate has announced a work suspension on 6 June, in line with the national declaration of a regular holiday to mark Eid’l Adha or the Feast of Sacrifice.
In an advisory issued Wednesday, Senate Secretary Renato Bantug Jr. said this follows Malacañang’s Proclamation No. 911, which formally declared the day a regular holiday in observance of the important Muslim celebration.
“To align with Policy Order No. 2025-005 (OSP), the Senate will follow an 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. work schedule from 2 to 5 June,” Bantug said.
However, employees assigned to plenary sessions, committee hearings, and meetings are still expected to report to work unless told otherwise.
The advisory clarified that the Office of the Sergeant-at-Arms and the Maintenance and General Services Bureau, whose personnel work in shifts, are not covered by the shortened work hours.
The exact date of Eid’l Adha was set based on the recommendation of the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos, following the Hijrah Islamic Lunar Calendar.
