GMA Network’s critically acclaimed film Green Bones will begin streaming worldwide on Netflix on 19 June.
Directed by Zig Dulay from an original concept by JC Rubio of GMA Public Affairs, Green Bones follows Domingo Zamora (Dennis Trillo), a prisoner due for release after serving time for his sister’s murder. His freedom is jeopardized by Xavier Gonzaga (Ruru Madrid), a new prison guard bent on keeping him behind bars. The film also explores the legend that green-stained bones in human remains signify a person’s inherent goodness.
Green Bones is produced by GMA Pictures and GMA Public Affairs and co-produced with Brightburn Entertainment.
Produced by GMA Pictures and GMA Public Affairs in co-production with Brightburn Entertainment, the cast includes Michael de Mesa, Ronnie Lazaro, Wendell Ramos and Alessandra de Rossi, with special appearances by Iza Calzado and Nonie Buencamino.
At the 50th Metro Manila Film Festival, Trillo won Best Actor and Madrid Best Supporting Actor. Green Bones also took home awards for Best Picture; Best Screenplay for National Artist Ricky Lee and Angeli Atienza; Best Cinematography for Neil Daza; and Best Child Performer for Sienna Stevens.
