A motorcycle rider was arrested in Parañaque City after fleeing a police checkpoint and later being found in possession of illegal drugs.
The suspect, identified only by the alias “Hidehiro,” 21, was flagged down during an Oplan Sita operation along Diosdado Macapagal Boulevard in Barangay Tambo for not wearing a helmet.
Police asked for his license and registration, but the rider refused and tried to escape on foot, abandoning his motorcycle.
After a brief chase, officers caught the suspect and recovered around 40 grams of suspected illegal drugs valued at P272,000.
Charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, will be filed against him, authorities said.
