FAST Logistics Group, the Philippines’ leading end-to-end logistics provider, has partnered with the Department of Trade and Industry to bring premium Guimaras mangoes directly to consumers.
The initiative supports agri-logistics innovation and economic inclusivity by connecting farmers to competitive markets. Using a 2-ton refrigerated truck (a first for the province) FAST ensures quality preservation while making high-value crops more accessible, affordable, and sustainable for Filipino consumers and farming communities alike.
This marks the first time Guimaras mangoes were transported using a dedicated ColdChain vehicle, helping preserve their freshness and quality from farm to exhibition.
Upon arrival in Manila, the mangoes were stored at the FAST ColdChain Hub Cavite, a state-of-the-art facility with 13,000 pallet positions and multi-temperature zones.
Equipped with sophisticated monitoring systems and real-time data tracking, the hub ensured that the mangoes were kept at optimal conditions before being showcased to the public.
Onrejas underscored the importance of end-to-end logistics in connecting farmers to markets, noting that FAST has the capability and technology to champion Filipino agricultural products both locally and globally.
“FAST is constantly exploring ways to provide end-to-end supply chain solutions for businesses of all sizes. Our commitment is to empower entrepreneurs with topnotch logistics solutions. We recognized an opportunity to support mango farmers and producers by leveraging our logistics expertise to bring their world-class produce to international platforms like IFEX Philippines,” he said.
He added that FAST’s entry into agri-logistics is aimed at solving persistent challenges in the agriculture value chain, such as spoilage, lack of market access, and inefficient transport systems, by providing integrated and intelligent ColdChain solutions.
“As we have proved in this trade fair, logistics is key to better market premium produce like Guimaras mangoes,” Onrejas said.
The DTI earlier said that it actively promoting the unique status of Guimaras mangoes as the first and currently the only registered Philippine product with a Geographical Indication, placing Guimaras mangoes in an exclusive global category, akin to the esteemed Cognac of France, Scotch whisky from Scotland, and Parmigiano Reggiano from Italy.
The DTI earlier announced its partnership with AirSpeed, LBC Express, and Shopee to expand the reach of Guimaras Mangoes, offline and online.
