The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) has extended the Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) for all flights operating near Kanlaon Volcano with vertical limits from the surface up to 11,000 feet.
The latest NOTAM, according to CAAP, will take effect from 14 May 2025, at 10:14 a.m. until 15 May, at 9 a.m.
CAAP stated that Kanlaon Volcano remains under Alert Level 3 (High Level of Volcanic Unrest). Due to the possible risks caused by volcanic ash, it is highly recommended that all aviation operations stay away from flying close to the volcano’s summit.
In order to monitor the situation, CAAP is actively working with several key agencies. The safety and dependability of all air travel remain a top priority, and travelers are also advised to stay in touch with their respective airlines for up-to-date information and any possible modifications to their flight schedules.
CAAP will issue further updates as soon as new information becomes available.
