University of Perpetual Help System Dalta is moving on without its star player Lebron Jhames Daep as it chases its first title in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) men’s basketball tournament.

Altas head coach Olsen Racela formally opened his training camp on Saturday morning and rolled out the red carpet for the six former Junior Altas who committed to the senior squad.

Among those who opted to stay home to power the school to what could be a banner season after winning the Season 100 juniors title are TJ Tabbuan, Jan Roluna, JD Pagulayan, Kelsey Baldoria, Jericho Cristino and Aries Borja.

They will join holdovers Patrick Sleat, John Abis, JP Boral, Angelo Gelsano, Jearico Nunez, Sean Orgo and Mark Gojo Cruz.

“I am happy because they are already here in the seniors team together with our veterans,” said Racela, also an assistant coach at Barangay Ginebra in the Philippine Basketball Association.

“At least we can now include them in our pre-season tournaments and in our preparation for the coming Season 101 of the NCAA.”

On the other hand, the Daep is the lone member of the fabled Junior Altas champion team who will not be returning.

The 6-foot-7 reigning NCAA juniors Most Valuable Player opted to join the powerhouse squad of De La Salle University in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines.

At La Salle, Daep will join forces with the likes of Mason Amos, Luis Pablo and Mike Philips together with prized playmakers Kean Baclaan and Jacob Cortez.
