Omega Esports head coach Lemuel "Lembot" Lucban admitted uncertainty over the future of both his players and the coaching staff following the team's disappointing performance in MPL Season 15.
Omega, previously hailed as a dark horse contender, ended the season in the bottom eight and failed to qualify for the Playoffs.
Lembot admitted that a key misstep was the team’s decision to expand its roster.
"To me, our biggest mistake was that we recruited substitute players. We had the option to shuffle which backfired because we did not know our solid five," Lembot told Daily Tribune.
The team, composed of Andoryouuu, Louis, Ch4knu, Uk1R, Jowm, and Super Yoshi, finished with a dismal 2-12 record during the regular season.
Their final hope of making the Playoffs was dashed in Week 8, Day 1, after suffering a 1-2 loss to AP Bren—another team already eliminated from contention.
With the entire team under scrutiny, Lembot acknowledged the possibility of major changes ahead.
"A roster change is possible, it is even possible that we [coaching staff] will get replaced because we got eliminated. Let us see what happens. There will be a change for sure," he said.
