Nxled continues to strengthen its roster for the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) as they welcome two new stars, Jov Fernandez and Janel Delerio.
Fernandez is making the switch to the Chameleons after a notable stint with Cignal.
Known for her exceptional skills as an opposite hitter, Fernandez became a household name after a standout career with Far Eastern University (FEU), where she earned the prestigious title of University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) Best Opposite Hitter.
Following her breakthrough Season 85 performance, Fernandez transitioned to Cignal, where she played for four conferences, contributing to the team’s two podium finishes, including a dramatic finals appearance in the 2024 PVL Invitational Conference.
Despite Cignal's loss to Creamline in a thrilling five-set match, Fernandez was pivotal to their success.
Her journey with the HD Spikers, however, had its share of ups and downs.
While she secured two medals, her time at Cignal was also marked by playoff absences, including a sixth-place finish in the 2024 All-Filipino Conference and a disappointing ninth-place result in the recently concluded 2024-2025 All-Filipino tournament, where the HD Spikers fell short of advancing past the play-ins.
Fernandez’s exit from the HD Spikers comes after the mid-conference departures of key players Ces Molina and Riri Meneses, and it leaves the team with significant gaps to fill.
Meanwhile, Janel Delerio, a standout libero for Farm Fresh, also makes her way to Nxled after impressing with her defensive prowess in the PVL.
Delerio, who made a name for herself with University of Santo Tomas (UST), was known as one of the top receivers during UAAP Season 84.
Her exceptional defensive skills made her a key asset to the Foxies, and now she brings that same tenacity to the Chameleons backcourt.
As Nxled prepares for the upcoming PVL season, the addition of these two experienced players strengthens their lineup, giving them a solid offensive and defensive edge.
The future looks bright for the newly revamped Chameleons as they aim to make a deep run in the PVL and challenge for a title.
