More than 100 beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) in the Ilocos Region were hired on the spot during the "Trabaho at Serbisyong Pangkalusugan sa Bagong Pilipinas" job fair in Dagupan City.
Approximately 4,000 jobs from 21 local and nine overseas employers were offered at the said job fair, led by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).
Out of the 3,000 4Ps beneficiaries who participated, 148 were hired, while 124 were recorded as near-hires.
In his message, DOLE Secretary Bienvenido Laguesma stressed the current administration's commitment to bringing government services closer to Filipinos through a strengthened whole-of-government approach.
"This is the clear will of our President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.—to extend the services of various government agencies, especially to those who are most in need," Laguesma said in Filipino.
"That is why we are working together with various departments, sincerely hoping that you will benefit from the services we bring to you," he added.
Laguesma said that through the conduct of the "Trabaho at Serbisyong Pangkalusugan sa Bagong Pilipinas" nationwide, the government aims to deliver more inclusive, accessible, and effective services for every Filipino.
