In celebration of Labor Day, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) will hold job fairs in 63 locations across the country, offering thousands of employment opportunities to Filipino jobseekers.
According to Patrick Patriwirawan Jr., director of DOLE’s Bureau of Local Employment, more than 452 employers have signed up to participate in the government-led initiative on 1 May, with a total of 37,695 job vacancies up for grabs.
Among the top hiring industries are manufacturing with 8,000 openings, business process outsourcing (BPO) with 4,000, and retail with 3,000. The finance and insurance sector is offering 2,000 positions, while the food and accommodation industry has listed 1,000 jobs. For those looking to work overseas, around 1,000 opportunities are also available.
