Just weeks after putting on a show in Japan, World Boxing Council (WBC) strawweight champion Melvin Jerusalem and Kenneth Llover were spotted inside the gym in their respective home bases.

Jerusalem, who beat Yudai Shigeoka on a clear-cut 12-round decision on 30 March in Tokoname, worked out a sweat in Cebu City.

Llover, a first-round knockout winner over Keita Kurihara last 24 March in Tokyo to win the Orient-Pacific Boxing Federation (OPBF) bantamweight title, was seen in training mode as well in General Trias, Cavite.

They are taking a short Lenten break but will be back in the gym shortly after the Holy Week.

There’s no specific date yet for Jerusalem but the plan is for him and Puerto Rican Oscar Collazo to fight in New York sometime in July.

Jerusalem holds the WBC jewels while Collazo has the World Boxing Association and World Boxing Organization belts.

As for the undefeated Llover, his promoter-manager Gerry Peñalosa revealed plans to hold his first defense of the OPBF 118-pound crown in Manila on 5 July with his promotional outfit joining hands with Titleholder and Blackwater.
