Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon has approved the suspension of the bus firm involved in a road accident along the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) in Valenzuela City on Monday night.
Dizon confirmed the decision in an ambush interview Tuesday morning at Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3.
According to initial reports, the suspension was issued to Draven Bus Company, which operates the Manila-Pampanga route.
On Monday night, one of the company’s buses struck a closed van and a dump truck after abruptly changing lanes.
A passenger said the bus, which was traveling from Bulacan to Monumento, had been speeding. Two of the 40 passengers sustained injuries.
The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board is expected to serve the suspension order to the firm.
