The duo of Stephanie and Emily are back — and this time, they're trading suburban secrets for Mediterranean mayhem.

Another Simple Favor, the sequel to the 2018 hit A Simple Favor, officially premieres on Amazon Prime Video this 1 May, promising viewers a darker, funnier, and deadlier ride.

Directed once again by Paul Feig, the 2025 black comedy mystery picks up five years after the original film’s twisted ending. Anna Kendrick and Blake Lively return in their roles as mommy-vlogger-turned-true-crime-author Stephanie Smothers and the chic, enigmatic Emily Nelson, whose criminal past still lingers.

Stephanie may have helped put Emily behind bars, but prison hasn’t kept Emily out of her life. Now out on appeal, Emily crashes Stephanie’s book tour with one more outrageous favor: be the maid of honor at her extravagant wedding in Capri. Stephanie, with a possible lawsuit hanging over her head, reluctantly agrees.

The sequel had its world premiere at the South by Southwest Festival on 7 March and was met with a wave of buzz for the chemistry between Kendrick and Lively. Fans of the first film can expect the same mix of high fashion, low morals, and a generous splash of murder.

Alongside Kendrick and Lively, returning cast members include Henry Golding as Sean, Emily’s long-suffering ex-husband; Andrew Rannells, Bashir Salahuddin, Ian Ho, and Joshua Satine. New additions to the ensemble include Michele Morrone as Emily’s mysterious fiancé Dante, Italian star Elena Sofia Ricci, and Allison Janney as Aunt Linda. Elizabeth Perkins and Alex Newell also join the fray.

The trailer teases the picturesque backdrop of Italy’s Capri island — a dream wedding destination that's about to turn into a crime scene.
