President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. has directed government agencies to adopt a work from home scheme on Wednesday to allow government employees to schedule their travels in time for the observance of Maundy Thursday and Good Friday on 17 to 18 April.
According to the Circular, signed by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin, WFH arrangements shall begin at 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM on 16 April, subject to existing laws, rules and regulations.
Work will be suspended starting 12:00 PM onwards.
Meanwhile, agencies whose function involve delivering basic and health services, preparedness/response to disasters and calamities, and/or the performance of other vital services shall continue with their operations under usual working arrangements and render the necessary services.
For the private sector, the decision of private companies to suspend work or implement work-from-home arrangements is subject to the discretion of employers.
