Alex Eala’s magical run continues as she rose to a new career-high of No. 73 in the latest ranking released by the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA).
The 19-year-old Eala further improved two notches higher after emerging 75th following her surprise semifinal stint in the Miami Open.
The three-time Junior Grand Slam champion is currently back at the Rafael Nadal Academy in Mallorca, Spain as she prepares for two WTA tournaments.
Eala will join the Oeiras Ladies Open in Portugal from 14 to 20 April and in the Mutua Madrid Open in Spain from 22 April to 4 May, which are part of her preparations for the French Open from 25 May to 8 June.
Even with the newfound ranking, Eala said she has to be ready for tougher challenges ahead as she will be pitted against strong opponents more frequently.
“We keep evolving. There are so many more goals to be set in place,” Eala said.
