Avel Bacudio’s fashion show, Gintong Sinag, in Plaza Mexico, the riverside square in Intramuros, was a successful presentation of “Sports Luxe” — a contemporary fashion and style narrative raised the look of sportswear. The refreshing take was fused with culture and tradition as seen in the beautiful textiles highlighted in every active and lounge masterpiece.
More importantly, it was an occassion to dress up our athletes fashion-forward and make them feel and look good. A parade of close to one hundred models walked the runway with pride in contemporary creations and a stunning nearly 20-minute show that left the audience in awe. The well-attended event filled Plaza Mexico, along the Pasig River with stylish wears painted in ultra-cool hues of red, white, yellow and blue. Guests from the fashion, design, government, business, and private sectors gathered in this historical and noteworthy homage to sports — and of weaving dreams for a better future.
