Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Director, P/Brig. Gen. Melecio Buslig, Jr. on Sunday reported that they have recovered a Toyota Camry (original plate number NGY 1450) that was forcibly taken in a carnapping incident.
Buslig said the successful recovery was made by joint operatives from the QCPD Anti-Carnapping Unit under P/Lt. Col. Hector Ortencio and the Bulacan Police Provincial Office (PPO).
He added that the carnapping incident occurred at 12:05 AM on 29 March 2025, in front of the HIFI KTV Bar along Timog Avenue, near the corner of Q Avenue, Brgy. Paligsahan, Quezon City. The vehicle was forcibly taken from its registered owner, a businessman residing in Brgy. Tandang Sora, Quezon City, who immediately reported the incident at DACU.
Upon receiving the report, DACU, in coordination with the Bulacan PPO, conducted operational research, resulting in the vehicle’s recovery in La Residencia Subdivision, Calumpit, Bulacan, on 2 April 2025, at about 8:10 PM.
During the recovery, it was discovered that the vehicle’s original plate number had been replaced with an improvised plate number (D88 5907).
According to Buslig, the recovered vehicle is now under investigation and will undergo proper documentation.
"This operation highlights the strong collaboration between QCPD and Bulacan PPO in addressing and combating carnapping incidents. With relentless determination, we continue our efforts to identify and apprehend those responsible for this crime," Buslig said.
