
Last 25 March, a significant event was launched at Chef Jessie in Rockwell Cub. The entire dining area was filled with Manila’s esteemed fashion designers, philanthropists, journalists and much more to witness the launch of the latest platform in the country — The Grant.
Designed to elevate Filipino creatives, this competition aims to discover new talent in fashion, accessories and living. A search for the next generation of visionaries who will move things future-forward to the next level, locally and to the world while honoring our history, culture and traditions.
The Grant is the pioneer project of Fashion Aid Philippines Inc. a non-profit organization that aims to promote cultural, social and economic consciousness and assist the new generation of Filipino creatives. It aims to infuse culture into art through its various activities. At the same time it hopes to instill camaraderie, goodwill, ethics and other important values.
Fashion Aid is led by its president, celebrated and notable fashion designer Paul Cabral with members, namely, Michael Leyva, Lulu Tan Gan, Patrick Rosas, Dennis Lustico, Rajo Laurel, Jun Escario, Maureen Disini, Anthony Ramirez, Bang Pineda, Chiyo Tagami, Earl Semitara, Jor-El Espina, Nic Alanon, Oliver Tolentino, Robby Carmona, Doreen Odvina, Leo Posadas, Mark Bumgarner and Kevin Conopio.
Audition and selection process is from April to May while announcement of winners is in September. The competition is open to fashion, accessories and lifestyle designers ages 18-30 years old, with Filipino citizenship and based in the Philippines.
