Golden Globe and BAFTA nominee Dolly de Leon continues to make waves internationally as she joins the star-studded cast of the second season of the hit American thriller series Nine Perfect Strangers.
The critically acclaimed Filipina actress will appear alongside Oscar winner Nicole Kidman, Henry Golding, Lena Olin, Annie Murphy, Christine Baranski, Liv Ullmann, Murray Bartlett, Maisie Richardson-Sellers, and Aras Aydin in the Hulu original series.
Based on Liane Moriarty’s bestselling novel, Nine Perfect Strangers follows a group of stressed-out urbanites who attend a 10-day retreat at a mysterious wellness resort in search of healing and transformation. The highly anticipated second season is set to premiere on 21 May, with two new episodes released weekly.
De Leon expressed deep gratitude and excitement for the opportunity, calling it a milestone in her acting career. “I’m so happy, I’m so excited and thrilled. I don’t think it’s just happening to me—it’s happening to all of us, kasi parang ito na 'yung chance natin to be in the world,” she shared in an interview with the Deadline. “Sobra akong excited—it’s the Nicole Kidman!”
In addition to Nine Perfect Strangers, de Leon will appear in the upcoming films Between the Temples and Grand Death Lotto, solidifying her presence on the global stage.
De Leon made history as the first Filipino nominated for Best Supporting Actress at both the Golden Globe Awards and the BAFTAs for her performance in the Oscar-nominated satire Triangle of Sadness. With this new chapter in her international career, she continues to break barriers and pave the way for more Filipino talent on the world stage.
