University of Perpetual Help System Dalta went through the wringer before booking a 23-25, 25-23, 14-25, 25-22, 15-13 win over Letran College in Season 100 National Collegiate Athletic Association women’s volleyball tournament yesterday at the Home of the Altas gym in Las Piñas City.
Middle blocker Winnie Bedaña spearheaded the assault with 13 attacks, four blocks and an ace for 13 points to give the Lady Altas their seventh win in eight games of the country’s oldest collegiate league.
The Lady Knights, on the other hand, fell to third with a 6-2 win-loss record, half game behind College of Saint Benilde, which has a 7-2 card.
Aside from Bedaña, also delivering for Lady Altas coach Sandy Rieta were Shaila Omipon and Jemalyn Menor as well as setter Fianne Ariola.
Omipon delivered 17 points with 17 excellent receptions while Menor had 10 kills and four blocks for 14 markers for Perpetual, which drew 25 excellent sets from Ariola.
Meanwhile, the Lady Knights banked on Marie Nitura with 18 points, Gia Mailing and Sheena Sarie, who finished with 16 and 15 markers, respectively.
