From the towering limestone formations to the forest trails of Masungi Georeserve, hundreds of volunteers, conservationists, and community leaders gathered in a show of unity on Tuesday, 1 April 2025.
The symbolic walk and bell-tying protest was held at the Masungi Nature Defense Camp in Baras, Rizal, opposing the 15-day eviction notice issued by the DENR to Blue Star, the group overseeing conservation in the area. Participants urged government agencies to engage in dialogue and protect the georeserve's fragile ecosystem, stressing that safeguarding nature should never be at odds with governance.
