House Speaker Martin Romualdez extended his warmest greetings to the Filipino Muslim community on the occasion of Eid’l Fitr, commending their devotion and role in fostering unity, peace, and progress in the country.
In a statement issued Monday, Romualdez described Eid’l Fitr as a time of "thanksgiving, reflection, and renewal of faith" following the completion of the Holy Month of Ramadan. He emphasized that the period of fasting is more than an act of endurance — it is a reaffirmation of spiritual commitment.
"May the devotion and sacrifices made throughout this sacred period bring forth abundant blessings, strengthened faith and renewed hope for all," he said. "May its conclusion usher in peace, prosperity and divine grace in your lives."
Romualdez highlighted the values of unity, compassion, and generosity as central to the celebration of Eid’l Fitr, noting that these same principles are key to building understanding and strengthening national solidarity.
He also acknowledged the significant role that Muslim Filipinos play in shaping the country’s future. “Your commitment to peace, progress and nation-building is deeply valued,” he said. “As we continue working towards an inclusive and harmonious society, let us recognize the contributions of our Muslim brothers and sisters in fostering economic growth, cultural richness, and national unity.”
Romualdez affirmed the House of Representatives' commitment to championing policies that promote equality, respect, and opportunity for all Filipinos, regardless of faith or background.
“We will continue to support initiatives that uplift Muslim Filipinos and ensure that your rights and aspirations are safeguarded,” he said.
He concluded his message by encouraging all Filipinos to celebrate the occasion with open hearts and to remember that diversity is a source of strength.
“Eid Mubarak to all! May the blessings of this sacred day bring peace, harmony and prosperity to every Filipino home.”
