ORANI, Bataan — Two suspects were arrested while conducting a pot session at the Orani Public Cemetery in Barangay Paraiso of this town Monday.
According to the Orani Municipal Police Station (MPS), the two suspects were caught in the act of pot session, with the police seizing P13,600 worth of suspected shabu and paraphernalia, as well as a hand grenade.
The Orani MPS stated that the two suspects will be charged with Violation of Sections 13, 14 and 15 under Article II of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002, and Republic Act 9516 or the Act Amending the Provisions of Presidential Decree No. 1866.
RA 9516 strengthens laws against illegal possession, manufacture, dealing, acquisition, or disposition of firearms, ammunition, or explosives, and instruments used in their manufacture, imposing stricter penalties.
Bataan Police Provincial Office Director Police Col. Palmer Z. Tria said, “The Bataan PNP’s priority is clear: to foster safer, crime-free communities where every citizen in Bataan — and beyond — can experience peace and security. The successful arrest of these suspects serves as a powerful statement that we will not yield in our commitment to fight all forms of crime. We will continue in taking decisive actions to rid our streets of criminal activity and other threats, dedicating ourselves to ensure the safety and well-being of future generations in our jurisdiction.”
