In the women’s doubles 35+ open category Bien Zoleta and Grace Woo clinched the bronze medal after a 21-17 victory over Indian Shraddha Damani and Sindoor Mittal of India.
Zoleta and Woo qualified for the semifinals after taking the second spot in Group B with a 3-1 record.
Unfortunately, the Filipino duo lost to Kai Fen Yi and Tien Wen Wang of Taiwan, 5-15, in the semifinals.
“This is the second time I got a medal in an Open 5.0 category coming from my last year’s gold in mixed open in WPC World Champs,” Zoleta said.
“Thank you Ate Grace we really fought hard and played harder in all our matches. The intensity and grit. Yesterday was one for the books.”
