Mayoralty candidate Sarah Discaya has assured the residents of Pasig City that she will ensure that all of them will feel the progress she can provide should she win in the 2025 midterm polls.
In a statement, Discaya stressed that she will ensure that there will be improvements in basic social welfare services such as education, health and sustainable livelihood.
She added that the alleged failure to implement beneficial programs represents a "modern face of corruption and mismanagement."
"We have a new face of corruption, and this is the non-implementation of humane programs like building hospitals, fixing classrooms, providing affordable housing, and financial assistance for the poor," Discaya said.
Discaya also stressed that corruption extends beyond the misappropriation of funds, encompassing the failure to deliver essential public services and neglecting the needs of Pasig residents.
This comes following some alleged complaints from "disappointed" Pasig residents about the local government's performance.
Senior citizens in Pasig have also expressed dissatisfaction with inadequate medicine and healthcare services.
Discaya pledged that such issues would not occur under her leadership, stating it's time for the local government to stop following "passing trends."
