Women legislators from across the country gathered on Sunday, 2 March at Novotel Manila for the 2025 National Assembly of the Lady Local Legislators’ League (Four-L) of the Philippines. The event, held in celebration of Women’s Month, focused on the theme Women Leadership: Recognizing the Power of Women in Nation-Building.
Around 200 female lawmakers, including vice governors, provincial board members, city and municipal councilors, barangay officials, and youth leaders, participated in discussions on inclusive leadership and policy-making.
Senator Christopher "Bong" Go attended the assembly and acknowledged the contributions of women in governance. He emphasized their role in shaping policies and strengthening communities, noting that women leaders bring dedication and resilience to public service.
“You are superstars in your own right. We were all elected to serve, and our priority should always be the welfare of our people,” Go said in Filipino.
He also reaffirmed his support for legislative initiatives aimed at empowering women and ensuring their welfare, citing his role in amending the Expanded Solo Parents’ Welfare Act (RA 11861) to provide additional benefits, particularly to solo mothers.
During the event, the Lady Local Legislators’ League officers were recognized for their efforts in advocating for gender equality and good governance. The organization is led by Iloilo Vice Governor Christine Garin, with key officers including Quezon City Councilor Kate Abigael Coseteng, Cagayan Board Member Mila Lauigan, and Siquijor Vice Governor Mei Ling Quezon.
"I will continue to be your partner in implementing programs that will benefit all of you because serving is my passion, and I believe that service to the people is also service to God," Go concluded.
